About

Objective

Sahara Dreaming is an artistic expedition across the Sahara desert. With extreme temperatures and during a period of political instability, it is one of the most culturally rich and mysterious regions in the world. Through photography and creation of videos, we will be documenting and sharing all interactions throughout this voyage. Culture, landscape, food, transportation and even charity are some of focuses. The aim is capturing those unique moments of discovery put in value through professional photography techniques as well as filming methods such as time lapse. Blogging about interactions with locals in their day-to-day activities; as a way to understand the way they perceive the world. Participating in minor charity was done by visiting the orphanages SOS Children's Village along the way, the goal was to dedicate one full day to visit and learn more about their daily activities and programs. After the voyage, do expect international expositions and “Sahara Dreaming The Book” including some of the most exclusive and technical photography and experiences will be published. Sharing the discovery and appreciating our fans and sponsors are part of Sahara Dreaming, as we say, “The best dreams are the ones shared.”

GONZALO / Co-Founder, web and graphic design
responsible for all graphic design, social media and web development within Sahara Dreaming.

I was born in Argentina and lucky enough in Patagonia, a magical and charming place. It filled me with childhood memories of thousands of kilometers of roads across endless landscapes in its purest form of existence. The hospitality of the people when our vehicle broke down, getting towed long di stances to the nearest village. Or the imagne of my father stopping for as many hitchikers as possible as he tells me “When I was younger, it gave me lots of joy when people stopped”

After studying computer science, I moved to Spain, where I lived for over ten years. I try to lead a life without ties, so I would be able to move whenever I get the chance.

I met Moustafa last year through CouchSurfing, during his visit to Almería. It was a great pleasure meet him and kept contact ever since. One day, in the middle of all my pondering about what to do with my future, Moustafa told me, full of excitement his plan about the Sahara crossing. This created such envies that I left all my planes and asked if I could join… luckily he agreed!
